The screen you DO want is under Pay & Transfer: Bill Pay: Manage accounts from other banks". The one under credit cards (where you think it should be) brings you to the screen where you add a new account and it gives you the error that the feature is coming soon. I had "Manage accounts from other banks" under TWO menu places: Pay & Transfer: BofA Credit Cards and Pay & Transfer: Bill Pay. It appeared that, for me initially, the website links were not routing to the correct pages. Just chiming in here - I had the exact same issue as the OP, but I was able to find the screen he found and add a new external account. I'll know in two days if those small deposits come through. Auto Paying a CC via ACH from an external account is something that has been easy for 20+ years and somehow BofA has managed to make it impossible.ĮDIT: Screenshots of the errors I'm getting ĮDIT: I called in again and this rep found a 3rd screen for setting up an external account, specific to bill pay, that seems like it's letting me add my account. How do I get past this? I'm not going to manually push money into BofA each month from an external account (which I've started the process of setting up this morning so that I can at the very least cover the current bill) and then make a manual payment from my Checking. I suspect making an appointment at a branch won't help either because I've had to do that twice already for different issues (in two weeks) and all they do is call the same toll-free number I was calling. They did check with someone technical who suggested using Chrome or Firefox instead of Edge, but that didn't help either. The CC people told me I could make a payment over the phone each month which is ridiculous. I called their support for web & app this morning and as soon as they heard "trying to pay credit card" they transferred me to someone over there. I've gotten these errors with accounts at two different banks but I had no issue setting up both of them with the instant verification at Merrill which is supposedly identical. You'll have the ability to add accounts from other banks to make payments. When I fill this out it says "Coming Soon. The second method showed up after my CC was activated and is under "Pay & Transfer", "BofA Credit Cards" and then "Manage Accounts from Other Banks". We were unable to verify your account.", though curiously about 5 minutes later I get an email saying it was setup. When I do this, I fill out the form, it sends me a text, then I get an error "Your account has not been added. The first is under "Pay & Transfer", "Wire/ACH", and then "Add Account/Recipient". It looks like I have two methods to do it. Now I'm trying to setup an external account for ongoing transfers into the BofA Checking and I'm striking out. The initial deposit to the Checking went through fine, as did my transfer to Merrill (though that had to be done over the phone). About two weeks ago I opened a checking with BofA (because it's required for the Preferred Rewards program), opened an account with Merrill (to transfer in enough money to qualify for Platinum Honors), and then opened a CC with BofA (specifically, Premium Rewards Elite).
